Secrets of the Longleaf Pine Air Dates

October 14, 2015 Tree Thumb

The highly anticipated new documentary titled “Secrets of the Longleaf Pine” is set to premiere on October 21, 2015 at 8pm on Alabama and Georgia Public Broadcasting Stations and 7pm on South Carolina Public Broadcasting Station. This documentary will take viewers on an expedition through Longleaf Pine and show the variety of plants and animals that can be found within the ecosystem. Just a small fraction of the historic Longleaf Pine ecosystem exists today, but the remaining forest displays more diversity than any other ecosystem in the northern hemisphere, other than the Amazon.

The two producers of the documentary include Rhett Turner and Greg Pope, who have mostly recently published “Chattahoochee Unplugged.” These two individuals bring attention to environmental issues and have had a great deal of success in delivering such important messages. They are both pleased to present facts, details and challenges facing the Longleaf ecosystem today.

The program will be airing on GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting) at 8 pm EST, APT (Alabama Public Television) at 8pm CST, and SCETV (South Carolina Educational TV) at 7pm EST on Wednesday, October 21. There will also be showings on WFSU Tallahassee, Florida on November 16 at 10pm EST, and November 22 at 2pm EST. If you are not able to view the program during the listed dates, you can pre-order the documentary through www.amazon.com.  To stream the video online click here.
